About the role

This position will serve as the Clean Energy Program Manager for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County and will work under the direction and supervision of the Community & Economic Vitality Issue Leader.

This position is responsible for the following duties:

• Provide program and administrative direction, management and coordination for all aspects of Clean Energy programming efforts, including Clean Energy programs, energy literacy workshops that target low-income and marginalized populations within a 7-county region (Jefferson/Lewis/Clinton/Essex/St. Lawrence/Franklin/Hamilton Counties).
• Provide management and coordination of Clean Energy program marketing initiatives for all Clean Energy Programs.
• Oversee implementation of innovative Clean Energy programming with a high level of discretion in accordance with the Community & Economic Vitality Program Area’s Plan of Work.
• Coordinate with federal, state and community partners to ensure that target outcomes are met.
• Supervise a team of energy advisors (working both remote and in-person) within the 7-county region served under the North Country Clean Energy Hub, oversee North Country Clean Energy Hub sub-contract with CCE St. Lawrence, occasional travel throughout the region will be required.
• All other duties as assigned to promote the growth and development of CCE energy programs within the region.

POSITION DETAILS:

This position is a full-time exempt position, 100% FTE. The annual salary for this position is $60,410.00. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.

POSITION INFORMATION:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Valid Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with military, county and city areas, and community organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and evaluate informal educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups; adults and youth.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computer technologies for education and communication purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in professional team efforts with volunteers and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.

Program Development - 5%

  • Apply Clean Energy subject matter knowledge to provide input in the development of educational strategies for all assigned programs.
  • Influence the creation of program materials to address the needs of participants within Clean Energy programs.
  • Support the research, identification and selection of existing resources for the Clean Energy program.
  • Work closely with Extension offices in the seven-county region to help determine best practices in educating local residents on energy efficiency.
