Job Summary:
The Lead RBT provides direct one-on-one behavioral interventions to teach communication social and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings. Lead RBT will utilize interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This person provides de-escalation role modeling, assistance, training and support to staff members. This person is key in student crisis intervention and de-escalation. It is expected that this person is familiar with governing rules and regulations for the school/ day treatment and that the program maintains compliance with these rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create all data sheets per Board Certified Behavioral Analysis (BCBA)
- Provide direct student supervision in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
- Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
- Models ABA Principles for teachers and paraprofessionals
- Model behavior strategies (antecedent and consequence) when student is escalated to assist with decreasing escalation,
- Provide support with all behavior escalations,
- Ensure that data is being collected and entered into the database weekly.
- Monitor use of programs developed for each student to ensure treatment integrity across all paraprofessionals and teachers,
- Communicate with BCBAs on novel or increasing maladaptive behaviors,
- Assist with parent training curriculum,
- Identifying along with BCBA materials needed for students and checking to make sure all materials are complete and useful in the classroom setting,
- Collect/record data on observable behavior,
- Compile and graph behavioral data reports monthly,
- Maintain client confidentiality,
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment,
- Collaborate with treatment team including students, parents and caregivers, outside professionals and co-workers,
- Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings,
- Creation of student binders,
- Provide feedback to paras based on supervision/observation forms.
- Assist in writing and implementing ABA,
- Responsible for supporting and maintaining a physically and psychologically safe environment.
- Uphold principles of the trauma informed principles of Roundup Fellowship,
- Participate in training and events that specifically address the intersection of trauma with culture, history, race, gender, location, and language,
- Recognize the impact of vicarious trauma on the workforce and continually assess in supervision signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma as well as self-care plans,
- Other duties as assigned.
