Position Summary:

As a key member of the Private Destination Development team reporting directly to the AVP of Product, the Director of Business Integration oversees the team responsible for leadership, planning, and execution of enterprise-level projects that stem from the corporation’s destination initiatives focusing on value creation, change management, and portfolio expansion. The Director, Business Integration will work cross-functionally with senior executives to drive broad-ranging integration initiatives, evaluate business improvement opportunities, and leverage insightful analytics to influence activities across the private destination developments. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage his/her experience to frame complex issues in terms of trade-offs, risks, and benefits.

 

The person in this position needs to have the experience, maturity, and confidence to interface with company executives and business owners to lead cross-functional teams that gain consensus around solutions. Effective leadership skills (communication, collaboration, curiosity, persistency, empathy and responsibility) are essential to drive integration via cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organization and beyond. This individual will be working hand in hand with various departments, including (but not limited to) HR, IT, Safety & Security, Legal, Consumer Insights & Analytics and Operations functions as the driving force to deliver a flawless execution. The Director, Business Integration will have regular access to privileged and confidential information and therefore, discretion in the dissemination of such information is paramount.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal teams on implementation planning and integration for new destination developments
  • Identify, assess, and obtain consensus to develop and execute a variety of integration initiatives
  • Support significant deal structuring and negotiations for destination developments
  • Superb stakeholder management skills- adept at mapping the stakeholder landscape and navigating this network to resolve issues and achieve strategic objectives
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts with executives, outside advisors, and internal subject matter experts
  • Lead the reporting on due diligence findings and provide summaries to C-Suite
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, matrix environment by managing uncertainty and taking calculated risks to drive initiatives forward in a timely and effective manner
  • Oversees the development and fact-based reporting necessary to manage the land-based business integration portfolio and its stakeholders, driving accountability and transparency
  • Capable of effectively managing time-sensitive, contractual, financial, regulatory, or legal issues that can have a direct impact on the execution of an array of initiatives tied to land-based development projects
  • Consult broadly and regularly with executives and other stakeholders for the purposes of defining objectives, setting priorities, managing risks, and ensuring proper governance
  • Manage direct reports plus a network of part-time project level resources and management consultants, as necessary
  • Partner on integration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on the established outcome
  • Identify synergies across projects to maximize resources and create best-in-class experiences
  • Foster a highly collaborative cross-functional team, where cross-discipline dynamic communication is paramount to success
  • Active interaction with C-Suite along with direct reporting functions to AVP of Product

 

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, engineering or similar required; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of project/portfolio management experience in a corporate environment or consulting experience with leadership capacity, preferably with global/matrixed accountabilities
  • Proven track record in managing complex initiatives and matrixed stakeholders with aggressive timetables
  • Extensive familiarity on successful integrations, stakeholder management and expectations management
  • Cruise or travel industry experience a strong plus
  • Strong communication, and ability to present confidently to senior leadership and cross-functionals.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills especially in a multi-cultural environment
