Job Details:

The Department of Nutritional Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin is hiring for a full-time Instructional Support Specialist position to support the online Master of Science in Nutritional Science program. The position is part of the administrative staff of the Master of Science in Nutritional Science in collaboration with the Department of Nutritional Sciences.   

This position will end 5/15/2025, with the potential of extension based on performance and funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and grading of assessments including quizzes, exams, writing assignments, and manuscripts in designated online courses.

  • Manage and respond to discussion board comments.

  • Hold regularly assigned online office hours and facilitate student learning on the assigned subject matter as needed. 

  • Provide administrative assistance to instructor including grade reporting, maintaining course website and materials, and proctoring scheduled and make-up exams.

  • Assist with other related tasks in support of graduate education.

  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with faculty assigned to the online course.

Required Qualifications:

  • A master's degree is required at time of employment.

  • Either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a nutrition-related science.

  • Previous teaching experience.

  • Reliable access to the internet

  • Eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

  • Must live in the Austin area

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail

Salary Range

$48,888.88 + depending on qualifications with Master's degree

$53,333.33 + depending on qualifications with Doctoral degree

Working Conditions

  • Providing teaching assistance in an online master’s degree program.

  • Schedule may vary depending on course assignment and departmental need.
