Internal Communications Lead
FivetranAbout the role
From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About the Role
We’re looking for an amazing individual to be Fivetran’s Internal Communications Lead and join our Employee Experience team. We want you to craft compelling comms to employees around the world, connect employees to one another and our priorities, all in service to our company mission. In this role, you’ll write and edit a ton of great content for internal audiences and have the ability to help identify, develop and lead new ideas. It may be obvious, given who we are, but we are looking for an individual who sees data (in any form e.g. charts, tables, graphs) as numbers that come together to tell a story. We are looking for that special person who can do it all: be hands-on in writing stellar communications but also be able to zoom out and proactively help strategize new ideas and ways of helping our employees feel engaged and energized through clear communications.
This is a full-time position based out of our Oakland/Denver office or a remote US position.
What You’ll Do
- Internal Communication Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and culture.
- Content Creation: Create engaging and informative content for internal communications on our internal wiki.
- Message Development: Craft clear and consistent messaging that communicates company updates, initiatives, and achievements to employees.
- Employee Engagement: Design and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement, foster a sense of belonging, and promote a positive work environment.
- Change Management: Support leadership in communicating changes within the organization, ensuring transparency and buy-in from employees.
- Feedback: Establish feedback mechanisms to gauge the effectiveness of internal communications and make improvements as needed.
- Channel Management: Manage and optimize internal communication channels, including email, intranet, and other digital platforms.
- Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address unexpected events that impact the company and its employees.
Skills We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience, specifically in internal communications, with a knack for clear, simple writing
- Particular focus and experience in analyzing and presenting data accurately, and using it effectively to tell a story
- Direct, demonstrated experience and knowledge of employee engagement principles
- Ability to prioritize effectively, and lead and execute independently
- Experience in working cross-collaboratively with employees and executives at all levels
- Fluent in best practices around various communication channels
- Understand how communications, leadership and culture intersect
- Experience driving behavior change with communication strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
