Job Overview
To meet and exceed defined revenue goals by finding, developing, and securing new group accounts while growing overall exposure and opportunity for the property. This will require the aggressive pursuit of potential business, negotiation of commitments, and ensuring strong client relations.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Sales:
- Targets results-oriented high revenue potential sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program, in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan.
- Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver’s license to make sales calls.
- Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing those that offer revenue growth.
- Achieves a minimum of 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals, as established by management.
New Account Development:
- Move market share from competitor accounts through networking, research and available sales tools. To target and solicit new accounts to generate new business.
- Acquire referrals from growing existing accounts.
- Responsiveness: Must be able to manage lead volume with above average response times and network with other Sage properties to grow lead referrals.
- Plan and manage an on-going targeted account development "hit list" to create new revenue and acquire valuable hotel contacts and business.
- Continually target and prospect for new business through communications, travel/trade show efforts, sales calls and creative and innovative tactics and strategies.
Yield Management:
- Utilize yield management techniques by profitably negotiating room rates and function space commitments to enhance property financial performance.
Account Service and Management:
- Maintain a well-documented, accurate, organized, and up-to-date file management system to best serve clients and employer in the most expedient, organized, and knowledgeable manner.
- Delphi and Cvent experience are preferred.
- Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous, and ethical interpersonal interaction.
- Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues.
- Promptly follows-up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
Product Knowledge:
- Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation and studies marketplace and territory to effectively capitalize on the property strengths and sell against the competition.
Time Management:
- Focus on revenue-producing activities and maximize selling time by dedicating a minimum of 90% of work time on direct sales efforts.
- Professionalism: Controls expenses while traveling on the property's behalf to minimize department and hotel costs.
