Job Duties: Be involved from inception of projects, understand requirements, architect, develop, deploy, and maintain studio products and services. Work in a multi-disciplinary squad which involves partnering with program and product managers to expand product offering based on business demands. Drive up user engagement and adoption of the platform while constantly working towards modernizing and improving platform performance and scalability. Interact with various teams within Studio as well as with wider Aladdin developer community during deployment and maintenance. Provide production support for issues that cannot be resolved by operations team. Prepare user documentation to maintain both development and operations continuity. Adhere to BlackRock's UX and design standards.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Applied Computer Science, or a related field; and 8 years progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 8 years of experience involving each of the following: 1. Developing and designing APIs using programming languages and platforms including Java, Python, C ++, Golang; 2. Database design and modeling using Oracle, Sybase , Snowflake , Casandra and any RDBMS and NOSQL platforms; 3. Using J2EE, SQL and Python to design and implement solutions using Web Application Development, Data Analysis, and Reporting within a Microservices Architecture; 4. Using Cloud Technologies (Kubernetes and AWS) to design and build applications on-prem and in¬cloud; 5. Using distributed systems architecture and to build scalable, distributed systems in enterprise environments; 6. Technical architecture: developing technical design, documentation standards, and technology selection frameworks; 7. Modern data platforms and cloud native infrastructure including Spring cloud Data Flow ( SCDF ), ETL transformation using python, Redis, Ignite, Coherence for data caching and handling, Openshift, Virtual Machines, Vault for data secrets management, Data streams like Kafka, MQ; 8. Working with a global team across multiple time zones; 9. Mentoring and educating engineers and operational teams, product managers, and program managers on technical architecture; 10. Building scalable, testable web applications with a focus on repeatability and code quality; 11. Working on data-oriented platforms including Abinitio, Denodo, data management using snowflake and cloud data streams including Kafka.
Salary: $225,000 - 250,000
