Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional to serve as the Manager of Onboarding and Recruiting Operations. This role supports from recruiting operations through onboarding and integration—ensuring a seamless, efficient, and high-touch experience for legal hires at all levels. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management and process improvement skills with a passion for legal talent development and cross-functional coordination.
***Salary in the range of $100,000 – $150,000 dependent on experience level and geographic location***
Essential Job Duties:
Onboarding & Transition Management
- Lead the onboarding process for new legal hires, serving as the primary point of contact from offer acceptance through orientation and on-boarding.
- Coordinate pre-hire and onboarding logistics such as background checks, conflicts clearance, equipment setup, credentials, and internal communications (bios, press releases).
- Develop and manage tailored onboarding schedules including orientation sessions, training, and key stakeholder meetings.
- Serve as a liaison between new hires and internal departments (e.g., HR, IT, Marketing, Finance, Professional Development) to ensure a smooth transition into the firm.
- Partner with Practice Group Leaders, Office Managing Partners, and business teams to support the integration of new attorneys into their practice groups.
- Facilitate engagement and development planning with Professional Development, including mentoring and training initiatives.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development on new hire branding, press releases, relationship-building, and client transition efforts.
- Identify and escalate onboarding challenges, propose solutions, and implement improvements to enhance the new hire experience.
- Collect feedback, track key metrics, and conduct post-onboarding reviews to inform future enhancements.
Recruiting Strategy
- Act as a resource and project manager for special recruiting initiatives, technology enhancements, and strategic process improvements
- Conduct market research and sourcing for lateral partner, counsel, and associate opportunities, including identifying prospective candidates, tracking competitor moves, and building talent intelligence reports to inform recruiting strategy.
- Maintain recruiting systems and data to ensure accuracy, generate insights, and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead or support recruiting-related projects, including technology implementations and workflow enhancements.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5-8 years of experience in legal recruiting, onboarding, or professional services talent operations.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, CRM platforms, and data analytics tools.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism in all interactions
