The Mechanical Design Engineering team within our Industrial Group is seeking a summer block intern. The intern will have an onsite work schedule in Christiansburg, VA.  

 

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:   

• Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Engineering and/or other relevant bachelor's or master's Degree program, at an accredited university. 

• GPA of at least 3.0; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department. 

• This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. 

• Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship. 

 

Students within the Moog U.S. Internship Program are expected to have a professional disposition, effective communication skills, a strong desire to learn, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. 

 

In this role you will:    

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key engineering tasks at Moog. 

• Provide technical support to engineers, as needed. 

• Work experience may include creating test systems; setting up and running tests with power supplies control software, test pump, and test loop; taking operational performance data to characterize pump performance (power, pressure, flow, temperature, NPSH) and presenting summary of data; and/or learning about general rotating machinery (centrifugal pumps, fans, blowers) and how they operate in a system (i.e., pipes or ducts) based on the student's educational discipline. 

• Provide input on project processes, strategies, and execution. 

• Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals. 

• Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation.

Christiansburg, VA $23.42–$28.92 Hourly
