English language teacher in Houston, TX

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring English Language Teachers to provide in-person/face-to-face customized lessons to our clients in Houston, TX.

Job Information: 

• Class Number: 177670/177671 & 176489
• Students: 3 children (6 years old & 8 years old & another 6-year-old)
• Schedule: Monday till Friday after 4pm & weekdays @ 6pm Central for the other student
• Request start date: ASAP
• Class duration: individual lessons of 30 min each child & 45 min/1 hour
• Lesson frequency: 2-3x per week & 3x (might increase or decrease frequency accordingly, later)
• Location: at the client's home in Royal Plain Ave, 77082, Houston, TX, USA & the other is in Westin Hills Ct, Houston, TX 77077 (1.1 miles from Target)
• Delivery Format: Face-to-face
• Current target language level: Novice high and intermediate respectively
• Native and other spoken languages: Portuguese and Spanish; the other one is Spanish (advanced), Catalan (native), Portuguese (have some knowledge but had forgotten a lot of it).
• Learning Goals: They need to develop their speaking skills
• The other 6-year-old is the student would like to get language support to transition the US school system and would need to focus on basic interaction with teachers and school mates. The teacher should help her feel more confident and comfortable speaking the language. 
• Additional Information: The 6-year-old needs to learn to write and read in English. The 8-year-old needs to communicate well in English. Both children need support with school.
• The other 6-year-old is student was born in Brazil but was going to Canadian school in English.  She loves to study and is a very well behaved, smart, enchanting child. The student needs a teacher who is very patient, fun and kind and who is used to kids transitioning from a very different school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language
• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field
• Minimum of two years of experience working with children.
