About the role
For our Communications team, we are looking as soon as possible for a (Senior) Media and Communications Manager (all genders).<br/><br/><br/><ul><li>Ensure timely and clear communication of the organisation’s activities, impact, positions and messaging to external audiences</li><li>Develop media strategies and communications plans for global and regional/thematic work</li><li>Write and edit content for the media, print and the website, including press releases, opinion pieces, web features, blog posts, marketing material </li><li>Build relationships with key German and international media outlets and handle interview requests</li><li>Identify and create opportunities to reach new and existing audiences</li><li>Contribute to the planning of events and publication launches </li><li>Ensure professional standards in design, tone and method of communications</li><li>Provide communications training to staff and support spokespeople in the preparation of interviews and speeches </li></ul><br/><ul><li>University degree in communications, political science, journalism, international affairs or other relevant fields</li><li>5+ years of professional experience in communications in an international or media organisation</li><li>Excellent communications skills in both English and German (at least one of them to native speaker standard) required</li><li>Knowledge of the German as well as international media market and demonstrated experience in media relations essential</li><li>Excellent writing and editing skills, with a thorough eye for detail and a creative approach to communications essential </li><li>Ability to turn complex issues into persuasive communications</li><li>Experience in developing advocacy campaigns an asset</li><li>Dynamic self-starter; highly motivated, organised, flexible, comfortable in taking initiative and able to work with minimum supervision as well as part of a team</li><li>High level of intercultural competence, diplomacy and political sensitivity</li><li>Knowledge of international affairs and considerable interest in peace and conflict issues</li></ul><br/><ul><li>Highly experienced and engaged colleagues</li><li>Transparent terms of compensation and benefits</li><li>If needed – advisory services regarding visa matters and travel conditions</li><li>Flat hierarchies and teamwork</li><li>Flexible working hours</li><li>Flexibility regarding office vs. mobile working solutions</li><li>Agile mindset</li></ul>The contract duration of the 70% position (27,30 hrs./week) is limited until December 31, 2025.<br/><strong> </strong><br/>Please submit your CV and cover letter as well as diplomas, certificates and references (letters or contact information) until<strong> 16 December 2024 </strong>through our online application system: <br/><a href="https://www.berghof-foundation.org/en/about-us/work-with-us/">https://www.berghof-foundation.org/en/about-us/work-with-us/</a>
