Veterinary Assistant

VCA West Mesa Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to share in our exciting, fast-paced environment. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will have excellent client service and communication skills.

Starting pay range $18-$20/hour (pay rate varies based on experience)

We are a General and Urgent Care practice, serving the west side of Albuquerque since 1993! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate care for hospitalized patients

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have documented previous experience
• Flexibility in schedule
• Client Service Skills
• Working knowledge of computers
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player wiling to learn new techniques and methods
