Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Front-End Focus)

Lattice is hiring a site reliability engineer with a focus on front-end development and infrastructure techniques, to ensure high reliability and performance. Our web applications use React on the front end and Node.js on the backend, which runs on Kubernetes in Amazon Web Services with Cloudflare Workers on the edge. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with product engineering teams to scale and troubleshoot these front-end applications. As a developer, you will build tools, monitoring, and other automation to improve Lattice’s approach to delivering a performant and resilient SaaS product.

What You Will Do

• Partner closely with production engineering teams to understand, scale and improve web application performance while promoting SRE practices during development.
• Instrument, monitor, and improve React code in Typescript for reliability and performance.
• Implement, operate, and recommend efficient use of load balancing, CDN, and other techniques to increase availability and performance.
• Develop tooling, automation, and observability for the front-end of our product.
• Provide expertise in observability and incident management while adhering to and helping mature our SRE principles.
• Participate in on-call rotation with the extended SRE team which covers infrastructure, observability, and CD.

What You Will Bring to the Table

Experience it’s important for you to have at some level:

• At least 5 years of experience running, scaling, and troubleshooting customer-facing applications in large production environments.
• Experience with application and network load balancing techniques, especially in multi-region, multi-product environments.
• Experience operating systems in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience as a web application developer (preferably SaaS or other customer-facing, preferably in TypeScript)
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React
• Strong understanding and troubleshooting of web application performance (eg. p75 LCP/FCP, First Input Delay, etc)
• Understanding of SRE concepts such as SLA/SLI/SLOs and incident management processes.
• Strong desire to automate away the toil.
• Strong interest in collaborating with and mentoring product engineers in web application front-end reliability and performance

Experience that would be helpful:

• Experience with Cloudflare CDN and Cloudflare workers
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with database configuration, query optimization and related operations

The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $163,758 - $216,090. This position is also eligible for incentive stock options, subject to the terms of Lattice’s applicable plans
