Financial Manager I (DFCM)

The Department of Government Operations is seeking a positive, communication driven, detail oriented, forward thinker to be a new Financial Manager I. This Financial Manager I position will support the Division of Facilities Construction & Management.

Salary – $30.18 - $49.77 Hourly Wage

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Manager I, you will:

  • Perform complex reviews of financial transactions and programs to ensure compliance
    with applicable state and federal regulations
  • Generate, analyze and present fiscal budget forecasts
  • Resolve difficult and unusual accounting problems and ensure adaptations and
    corrections as necessary
  • Reconcile construction projects between the AIM and Vantage systems

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal forms
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data connections)
  • Learns and adapts quickly
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • 2 years professional financial, accounting, or auditing experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience using Vantage - the State of Utah's accounting system
  • Experience writing VBA macros
  • Experience with construction accounting
  • CPA license or completed Master's degree in accounting or a related field
