Description
NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Project Manager for large, complex task order and shall assist the Program Manager in working with the Government Contracting Officer (KO), Contracting Officer Representative (COR), the task order-level Managers, Government management personnel and customer agency representatives. The TO PM Is responsible for the overall management of task order to ensure that technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, operate with a high sense of urgency and be highly detail oriented. Candidates will also apply Industry PM experience to execute management efforts independently and advise stakeholders on recommended execution plans and capabilities. Candidates should have knowledge in execution of multiple types of PM methodologies (Waterfall, scrum, kanban, etc.).
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop operational policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on best practices and compliance requirements.
- Execute Prioritization of work efforts across multiple projects, recognizing and addressing impediments in a timely/urgent manner.
- Independently manage different types of Project management methodologies and teams as required.
- Provide PM expertise to assist in the identification of the appropriate PM methodology for assigned projects.
- Independently work with technical teams and stakeholders to define requirements and develop execution plans based on industry standards and PM experience.
- Execute with a sense of urgency to continue driving the success of assigned projects. (Also ensure technical teams operate with a sense of urgency)
- Develop detailed MS project schedules as required for projects depending on methodology used.
- Participate in Risk Management, evaluating risk levels and implications.
- Includes risk identification and escalation
- Identify and resolve barriers/impediments to progress and project goals. Have a solid understanding of what questions to ask and the ability to work with leadership/stakeholders to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure execution of required practices and procedures for all projects and technical teams managed.
- Possess the ability to identify the resources/skill sets needed to accomplish projects.
- Identify and communicate resources/skillset needs to leadership effectively.
- Understand reporting requirements based on Industry recognized project management standards.
- Determine appropriate requirements that best suit the needs of the projects being managed based on industry standards.
- Identify key metrics for stakeholders based on industry standards.
- Proactively and independently configure project management tools to provide required reporting metrics.
- Develop professional status reports that communicate clear/detailed project status to stakeholders.
- Support and execute all applicable phases of project lifecycle (e.g. planning, initiation, execution, close-out)
- Coordinate and track the execution of project activities and deliverables across team members and facilitate meetings, phone conferences, and establishment of working groups as needed.
- Assign task responsibilities to project team members.
- Manages internal and external client expectations.
- Identifies, assesses, and minimizes project risks to successful project completion.

Requirements
Desired/Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree required.
- Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance is required.
- DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 IAM Level III Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) OR Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) OR Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C-CISO) OR GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC).
- Must have Project Management certification (i.e., Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, other equivalent nationally recognized certification.)
- Ten (10) years of project management or other relevant experience with progressively higher responsibility in the public and/or private sector in the IT and/or consulting fields.
- Fifteen (15) years of leadership experience with progressively higher responsibility in the public and/or private sector in the IT and/or consulting fields.
- Two (2) years of experience in supporting DoD Program Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Level or ACAT I
