QA Analyst / Automation Engineer
Fidelity Investments is looking for top Software QA Engineer talent that can, via skilled automation and development, drive high user happiness as it relates to the workflow and business process related tools within our product portfolio. This role will play a key part of developing industry standard and best-practice Workflow applications.
This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT.
The Team:
As part of the Advanced Process Solutions division within Fidelity Investments, you will join a Scrum team of 5-7 very hardworking individuals tasked with maintaining and improving Fidelity’s workflow suite of tools.
Summary:
This individual will be responsible for the planning, design and execution of test scenarios, driving automation strategy (when applicable), and contributing to the test effort as a member of an agile team across various development projects. The individual will also need to become a Karate expert; working diligently to convert our current automated test suite from the legacy automation tool SoaTest to our modern Karate framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review and analyze client-specific functional requirements
Analyze functional and technical system design for testability
Collaborate with project team to understand and prioritize testing efforts
Define test scenarios, build test plans and participate in the definition and execution of both automated and manual test scripts
Mine and manipulate test data in support of test cases for multiple or sophisticated projects
Document expected results
In collaboration with the scrum team, adhere to deliverables in the sprint schedule
Document and report on testing issues (using JIRA)
Define system regression tests for future projects and for ongoing regression efforts
Identify defects in multiple environments and throughout all phases of the development life cycle
Support production verification and validation
Assist in defining the Automation Strategy for the release
Work in conjunction with all functional groups to identify potential future improvements to the overall quality process, requirements gathering and documentation
Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience is required
Minimum of 3-5 years of Software Quality Assurance experience
Experience with test automation tools, SoaTest and Karate is a plus
Experience with agile methodology and tool sets (JIRA)
Experience with Git, Jenkins, CI/CD preferred
Ability to work successfully on a globally dispersed team
Strong technical skills such as HTML, JavaScript/Typescript, Java/Groovy
Ability to read and improve scripts/code
Proven understanding of the software development process including planning, analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, and problem resolution
