About the role

We are seeking an Assistant to join our Campus Recruitment and Diversity Outreach team where you will help manage partnerships, coordinate campus engagement, and support programming to grow and strengthen our pipeline of publishing talent. 

 

The Penguin Random House Campus Recruitment and Diversity Outreach team is a strategic team within the Human Resources department focused on expanding access to careers in publishing and helping to deliver on our mission to create books for everyone.  We develop learning opportunities, networking connections and provide guidance through the application process to individuals including those who may not have exposure to traditional pathways to publishing or prior industry experience.  We partner with community organizations and college campuses to engage and prepare future publishing professionals for employment, while also supporting company-wide recruitment initiatives.  

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Engage with various campuses and partner organizations across the country to build a pipeline of early career and intern candidates. 
  • Organize, schedule and attend in-person and virtual career fairs, panels, info sessions, and office tours. 
  • Host one-on-one informational interviews with interested candidates. 
  • Manage and maintain detailed pipeline trackers for internships and full-time roles to support effective recruiting operations. 
  • Assist with our internship program including full-cycle recruitment, programming logistics and other administrative tasks each internship cycle. 
  • Support Recruitment Manager, Campus and Diversity Outreach on ad hoc projects and programs. 

 

Please apply if you meet the following qualifications:

  • Prior experience in event coordination, higher education, campus recruitment, or related fields. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and event coordination. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with email campaigns and professional outreach. 
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally across Recruitment, HR, and business teams. 
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through, with comfort in both independent and team-driven work. 
  • Ability to travel by train and/or plane required – up to 15%. 
  • Must have ability to lift up to 20 lbs of books and supplies.

 

The Penguin Random House national headquarters is located in New York City. This is a hybrid position, requiring occasional in-person days at our 1745 Broadway location.

The salary or salary range for this position is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results .
