About the role

<p>A tender is a formal and structured invitation to submit competitive rate offers, most often done in various negotiation rounds. The Global BCO Steering team in Hamburg is overseeing, coordinating and continuously enhancing the tender process of our biggest global accounts. We are keeping all threads and stakeholder requirements of the tender handling process together. While the high season (from September to March) is keeping us busy with tender negotiations for the next season, we are initiating projects and improving aspects of the tender process during the rest of the year.</p> <p>Tender business is Hapag-Lloyd's volume backbone – be part of our team and take care of big tenders as BMW, Nike, Nestle or BASF! </p> <p>As a Manager Global Tender Management &amp; Analytics, you will…</p> <ul> <li>coordinate and supervise the whole tender process from receival to submission, review customer bid sheets and customer requirements, execute final quality checks before tender submission</li> <li>be the sounding board for tender requests globally and be responsible for tender presentation material and regular trainings on tender handling</li> <li>consult stakeholders as Trade Management, Global &amp; Regional BCO Management, Account Manager/Sales, Specials/Reefer/DG on all tender related topics and participate in tender kick-off calls</li> <li>analyse and evaluate customer-own MFR formulas including recommendations and approvals </li> <li>be the business expert owner of the tender data base in Salesforce and QV Tender, continuously push enhancements of the Excel based Tender Tool and Salesforce</li> <li>detect and drive improvements of the tender process and tools</li> <li>work closely together with our colleagues from GCC Chennai </li> <li>get to know full market potential of our biggest industry accounts by deep diving into their bid sheets and transportation needs</li> <li>prepare for and participate in face2face meetings with our tender accounts in final negotiation stage worldwide</li> <li>analyse tender accounts, verticals or total tender landscape by their bid, nomination and actual values and provide results to Director and Senior Managers </li> <li>work on diverse and thrilling projects in the offseason </li> </ul> <p>To be successful in this role, you should…</p> <ul> <li>ideally have work experience in Pricing or Sales (know-how on processes and needs of industry accounts would be advantageous) </li> <li>not shy away from massive excel sheets and data details</li> <li>be able to coordinate amongst several stakeholders in a structured and well-organized manner</li> <li>be excited about challenging the status quo, creating innovative solutions and pushing tender (tools/process) enhancements throughout the organization</li> <li>be willing to learn new tools &amp; technologies (e.g. macro programming, Alteryx, QlikSense)</li> <li>communicate in a sovereign and convincing manner, also fluently in written and spoken English</li> <li>feel comfortable presenting in calls, being persuasive and representing tender process requirements</li> <li>have a strong sense for analytical and data questions as well as reporting output</li> <li>be able to work under pressure in tender high season</li> <li>be interested to take over ownership of offseason projects, working cross-functionally</li> <li>have excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint</li> </ul> <p></p> <span>With a fleet of 308 modern container ships and a Vessel Capacity of 2.4 million TEU, as well as a Container Capacity of 3.7 million TEU including one of the world’s largest and most modern reefer container fleets, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the world’s leading liner shipping companies.
