Medical Assistant Lead at CuraiWe are seeking a Medical Assistant Lead to provide leadership and guidance within our clinical operations team to our medical assistant team. As a key contributor to the patient care experience, this role will be involved in day to day patient care, but also oversee workflows, optimize processes, and support team members in delivering high-quality, virtual-first primary care. The Medical Assistant Lead must demonstrate agency and initiative, with a willingness to integrate AI-driven tools into medical assistant workflows to enhance efficiency and patient care. The Lead Medical Assistant will act as a bridge between clinical staff and management, ensuring that patient care is efficient, empathetic, and aligned with our mission to make healthcare accessible to all.
The clinical team at Curai uses Artificial intelligence-empowered electronic records to deliver urgent care and primary care to our patients. Patients come for both urgent and primary care, and their visits can be based on a condition or a request to see a Primary Care Clinician. Most medical care is delivered through asynchronous or synchronous chat with a provider. Video visits are also available when needed. We operate 24/7 365.

What You’ll Do• Leadership & Oversight: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to the medical assistant team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.• Operational Support: Perform medical assistant duties regularly, maintaining a strong connection to frontline tasks.• Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline patient workflows and improve operational efficiency.• Quality Assurance: Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to established quality standards and protocols.• Patient Coordination: • Manage functions such as pharmacy coordination, referrals, and follow-up tasks to support care continuity. • Assist patients with sourcing specialists, scheduling appointments, and accessing resources.• Communication & Reporting:• Act as a liaison between medical assistants, clinicians, and management.• Provide regular feedback and reporting on team performance and operational metrics.• Training & Development: Lead onboarding and training efforts for new team members, ensuring they are equipped to provide excellent care.
What You’ll Need• Certification as a medical assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).• 5+ years of experience as a medical assistant, including 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.• 2 years of experience in telemedicine is required.• Remote supervisory experience is a plus.• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and motivate a remote team.• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.• Proficiency in using technology, including EHR systems, telemedicine platforms, and general office software.• Commitment to patient privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.• Demonstrated ability to work independently with agency and initiative in a fast-paced environment.• Experie
