The Team:
As a Project Officer within the Department of Health Tasmania, you work as part of the Hospitals and Primary Care team, a collaborative group responsible for delivering strategic initiatives across the health system. The team supports high‑level project planning, implementation, and coordination, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities while engaging with key internal and external stakeholders. Together, the team works to advance policy goals, improve service delivery, and support the strategic direction of the Directorate.The Role:
The Project Officer for the Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Statewide Service Development Project will support the planning, development, implementation, and review of frameworks, systems, and processes that support the delivery of service development objectives within designated timelines. This role involves active engagement and consultation with stakeholders and development of a sustainable statewide model. The Project Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and will work collaboratively with the broader team to support the successful implementation of a statewide model of care.
You will need to:
- Undertake the identification and analysis of key barriers and facilitators impacting the achievement of project objectives and develop recommendations to support effective and informed decision-making by the project steering committee.
- Support and coordinate administrative tasks associated with the project including providing administrative project support to the project steering committee, relevant working groups and stakeholders, and other committees/meetings as identified.
- Provide project and operational support, including the preparation and management of project documentation essential to the successful development, implementation, and ongoing delivery of the project

Details of appointment:
Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 6 November 2026.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $98,255 to $103,069 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
