• Partner with stakeholders to understand and solve technical and business challenges
• Provide support and enhancements to SDSU’s Oracle financial systems and APEX applications

Position Information

• Full-time, benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
• Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
• Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
• This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

Department Summary

The purpose of the Information Technology (IT) Division is to provide the technology that empowers SDSU’s success. The IT Division comprises several departments and areas, all sharing the mission to leverage people and technology in support of SDSU’s commitment to innovative teaching, research, and service. The IT Division is led by the Chief Information Officer, who is ultimately responsible for developing the long-term infrastructure, services, and strategy necessary to support the University’s mission of learning, discovery, and engagement. The IT Division has the stewardship responsibility for core IT assets on campus and the obligation to provide the services, training, and community-building necessary to realize the benefits of those investments across the San Diego State University community. The IT Division comprises 184 staff members and 28 administrators.

The ERP Systems unit within the Information Technology Division leads and supports critical enterprise-level transactional systems for the university. These systems include my.SDSU (PeopleSoft) Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft HCM, Oracle E-Business Suite for financials, Hyland OnBase Imaging and Workflow, and other related and legacy systems in use. ERP Systems is collectively responsible for database administration, analysis and development, application system administration, and application security.

Education and Experience

To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in applications programming and systems analysis and related programming support functions is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Analyst/Programmer, depending on the position assignment, may include working knowledge of a specific industry standard applications programming language and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniques.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree. In addition, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in business systems analysis is required, which must be in addition to the education or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite Financials (12.x) or related ERP financial systems, including implementation, support, and maintenance
