Job Description

Arista Networks is a fast growing, multi-award winning company which has pioneered and delivered software-driven cloud networking solutions for large data center storage and computing environments.  Continued expansion has created this opportunity on our export compliance team, the successful applicant will work primarily in the EMEA region but will have opportunities to work with the Global export compliance teams based in the US as well as many different departments within Arista.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of trade and customs regulatory compliance for EMEA
  • Create Training Material and/or update existing training in conjunction with the Global Compliance Manager
  • Provide regular training to EMEA employees on relevant export control topics, licenses and relevant updates.
  • Communicate export control requirements and ensure adherence to obligations under applicable law and the Arista Networks Ltd Internal Compliance Procedure (ICP)
  • Review and approval of End User Statements as required
  • Determine if an export license is required by completing due diligence screening
  • Complete and submit License applications to the DETE as well as managing existing licenses and completing reporting requirements
  • Customer screening and investigation to complete customer classification in the Arista ERP system
  • Work with cross functional teams including logistics, order management, service, legal, manufacturing operations, internal and external auditors
  • Provide guidance concerning EU and Irish Trade regulations affecting Arista
  • Complete internal compliance audits and assessments of our trade practices and procedures including those in the ICP
  • Engage with external stakeholders (freight forwarders, customs brokers, couriers) to identify and action custom compliance risks
  • Review and provide feedback on existing and new compliance procedures in conjunction with the Global compliance manager
  • Engage with outside legal counsel and Arista’s legal team in reviewing customers and orders as required to ensure compliance with US and EU regulations
  • Ability to research and resolve export compliance issues independently or with the assistance of other parties
  • Complete product classification including hardware and software and review existing classifications to ensure correctness.

 

Qualifications

  • Third Level education in Trade Compliance or related field
  • Strong experience in Customs Compliance, Export control regulations for dual-use goods
  • Pro-active and flexible with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Organised, accurate and a strong attention to detail
  • Familiar with Export compliance screening tools
  • Ability to communicate, negotiate, influence and implement changes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and engage the assistance of other parties as required
  • Excellent understanding of US and EU export control regulations
  • Project management skills
  • Experience interacting with Competent authorities such as DETE preferable
