Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and organized person with experience and background in project management, stakeholder engagement, and key performance indicators/business performance analysis. Work will focus on supporting the execution of projects focused on advancing the clean energy ecosystem through analysis, collaboration, and partnerships. Our ideal candidate is adept at managing multiple priorities, interfacing with technical and non-technical audiences, and supporting researchers and Group Managers with different priorities simultaneously. Interest and/or experience with government contracting is a plus.

NREL conducts world-class research on energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies, and energy systems integration and optimization. Nestled in the foothills of Golden, Colorado, and convenient to Denver, Boulder, and several suburbs, the NREL campus is a living experiment filled with curious researchers and advanced energy technologies. As a center within NREL, the Strategic Energy Analysis Center (SEAC) provides leading-edge, innovative, high-impact programs and research to conduct credible, objective analysis, develop tools, and build data resources that inform our transition to a secure, clean, and affordable energy future. In this role, you would be part of the Impacts Analysis group within SEAC, which hosts researchers performing state-of-the-science air quality, agrivoltaics, controlled environment agriculture, and lifecycle analysis and techno-economic analysis for candidate renewable energy technologies and fuels for the energy transition.

Initial projects may include establishing and coordinating the project support structure for multi-year research projects, managing a portfolio of subcontracts, supporting NREL staff in setting up a structure that supports more efficient subcontracting, collecting and analyzing key performance indicators, and assisting Principal Investigators (PIs) with project and portfolio management tasks as assigned. Additional projects may include establishing project planning processes and tracking financial progress with respect to deliverables and cash flow. Success is measured by the successful completion of project milestones, development of effective partnerships, streamlined execution of subcontracting, collection and analysis of key performance indicator and proactive management of a portfolio of separate projects that collectively advance our research goals.
