Highbridge - Research Analyst - Executive Director

Job Description                                                     

Highbridge Capital Management seeks a research analyst to assist in the underwriting of its credit and volatility investments and the negotiation and structuring of its event driven, new money and special situations investments and their work outs, restructurings and corporate actions. The role will focus on investments that are capitalized by, but not limited to, Highbridge’s flagship credit/volatility fund, the Highbridge Tactical Credit Fund (“HTCF”), as well as those that are intended to be capitalized by Highbridge’s closed-end opportunistic investment vehicles.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Responsible for identifying and underwriting potential investments and provide day-to-day oversight of positions
• Construct proprietary models to evaluate an issuer’s creditworthiness and capital structure
• Run a variety of analyses, including valuation asset coverage, on an ad-hoc basis and liaise with the trading desk to inform daily investment decision-making
• Condense and synthesize analysis into concise memos that articulate the risk/reward proposition for Portfolio Manager review
• Monitor daily news flow and maintain contact with Management teams for current and prospective investments
• Assess potential deal dynamics and underwrite financing opportunities
• Lead industry expert due diligence calls

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills 

• 7-10+ years in an investment banking, advisory, or buyside credit or special situation investing
  • Distressed investment background preferred
• Capability to manage people and processes – namely an investment research process 
  • Prior management experience is a requirement
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Excellent interpersonal skills – this individual will interact with management teams
• Clear ability to construct and review detailed cash flow models as well as quantitative analyses
• Debt documentation review (indentures, credit agreements) with a focus on covenant review, instrument mechanics and financing capacity
• Strong understanding of corporate accounting and finance
• Familiarity with trading floor stress and ability to work effectively within a high-performance, global team
