Job Summary:

This Application Analyst (Health IT Laboratory Information Systems) will analyze operational processes and information generation or utilization. The Application Analyst will design, develop, manage, test, train, implement and support computer-based information systems and various applications. Manage multidisciplinary teams within Health IT for continuous process improvement, maintenance functions and support for business operations, analyst and programmers with technical problems.

Laboratory Information System experience with Cerner Millennium PathNet and/or Lab Interfaces & Middleware is strongly preferred for this role.

Note: This role is available for remote work in most US locations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge Level:  Each Position must contain a level of knowledge of all the applications within the LIS team to manage and support.  As the employee grows and develops, their ability to be an SME within each application is achieved and changes. End result and goal is that any level can do basic support and on call while employees grow in the knowledge and understanding of the applications utilized on the team and less support by the vendor. The following experience is preferred:

    • Cerner Millennium PathNet experience

    • Interface & Middleware experience

    • Experience as a Laboratory Scientist with application implementation experience

    • SME for any one of the applications and understanding of the other systems

    • Clinical Genetic Molecular Biology background

    • Epic Genomic module experience or exposure is preferred

  • Communication.

    • Communicate effective oral, aural and written skills with work groups, including internal LIS team members, HITS team members, Business Partner members as well as external participants

    • Willingly share knowledge with other teams and team members

    • Work collaboratively with other teams to expedite resolution to problems

    • Prepare and deliver presentations to a teams and user presentation

    • Communicate problem resolution to users and staff seeking feedback as to action taken to resolve a problem and the success or non-success

    • Review feedback and take appropriate action seeking directions and assistance from team leader/mentor

    • Provide written program documentation as per standards

    • Provide timely status reporting as required or needed

  • Integrity and security of data

    • Ensure the integrity and security of institutional data

    • Promote confidentiality, security policies and procedures

    • Provide support for user security processes

    • Mitigate the impact of data across systems

    • Collaborate on team maintenance support and workflows between clinical and financial systems

  • Analysis and Definition

    • Conduct interviews with end users, vendors and staff to determine needs/requirements

    • Review information on more complex assignments/projects with team leader/mentor, seeking input and direction

    • Prepare functional and technical specifications along with appropriate supporting documentation including, but not limited to, recommendations, ROI , project scope, costs, and others requested

    • Effectively identify problems, risks and their resolutions

    • Recognize and point out procedural and technical impacts on assignments/projects in an environment of integrated systems. Seek advice and direction from team leader/mentor to assure the impact is properly addressed

    • Analyze individual assignments and provide accurate time frame estimates for completion
