Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Job Description:

Position Description: 

Develops web mobile applications. Deploys and configures software applications within public cloud environments -- Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Supports API and HTTP networks using Graph QL. Develops tools and solutions that will enable the team to create and maintain platforms faster and with great accuracy using DevOps Toolkits, such as Kubernetes, Rushhour, Data Dog, Jenkins, and Splunk. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web Applications using Angular and Node.js at an enterprise level.  

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing Web Applications using Angular and Node.js at an enterprise level. 

Skills and Knowledge: 

Candidate must also possess: 

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing Single-Page Applications (SPAs), using NodeJS, Express, Vue JS, or Angular JS frameworks; and performing unit testing, using Mocha or Jasmine. 

• DE performing end-to-end exploratory and automated testing of Web and mobile applications, using front-end technologies (Protractor and Selenium), CSS3/SCSS, and build tools (Grunt or Gulp).  

• DE providing production support and incident management and troubleshooting to analyze and evaluate business application incidents; monitoring availability for business-critical applications, using log querying and dashboard monitoring tools based on Splunk Search Head, Splunk Alerts, or Splunk Dashboards. 

• DE configuring continuous build and integration flows, using Git, Maven, Ant, or Jenkins within a UNIX environment (Ubuntu and Centos).
