The Lead O&M Tech is responsible for leading a team of workers who operate, maintain, and repair water and wastewater infrastructure. This position requires a thorough knowledge of water and wastewater systems and the ability to oversee the work of a team. The Lead O&M Tech will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

The Lead O&M Tech will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of workers in operations and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, including but not limited to mains, lift stations, booster stations.
- Oversee customer service to residents and businesses, including responding to inquiries and complaints, and providing information about water and wastewater services.
- Schedule and prioritize work orders and ensure that work is completed on time.
- Oversee meter reading and meter read edit request.
- Oversee utility locate requests and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Ensure team completes daily required operational site inspections.
- Train and mentor crew members in proper maintenance and repair techniques
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules and assure compliance with the schedule and record keeping.
- Develops estimates for the repairs and maintenance.
- Coordinates projects with other departments and divisions as necessary.
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Aid the plant operator with operations and maintenance of treatment facilities as needed.
- Respond to emergencies and troubleshoot issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Cover for the manager during their absence, including managing staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Perform all duties as assigned by management.
What you will need to succeed:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater maintenance and repair
- Strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems and components
- Experience leading a team of workers.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Applicants will possess proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel and maintenance management programs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid commercial driver's license and ability to operate a variety of tools and equipment.
- Water and wastewater certifications for Missouri (such as a minimum Class DSII or Class C certification) are highly preferred.
- Applicant must be able to understand and follow compliance standards.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
