About the role

Overview

The Department of Aviation Technology in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University is seeking a full-time, Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) Technician. Experienced technicians or those just starting their career may apply. This position located at the Logan Airport.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and service Utah State University Flight training aircraft (i.e. Diamond DA40F, DA42 (2 liter engines) airplanes, Robinson R-22, and R-44 helicopters).
  • Must be willing to help maintain shop equipment, buildings, lawn care, snow removal and other tasks to assist the flight school operations.
  • Assist the Chief of Maintenance with all tasks related to airworthiness and act in his stead when not available.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant Licenses.
  • A/P license, or completion of A/P program and ability to obtain A/P license.
  • Must provide your own tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two- or Four-year degree
  • 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience working on Diamond DA40F, DA42 (2 liter engines).

    Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
