Sr Lending Research Specialist

Purpose
This position plays a critical role in shaping lending policies, optimizing processes and enhancing product offerings within Loan Administration. Assists with vendor evaluation, research and due diligence of new products, services and lending technology. Assists with the coordination of lending campaigns to drive new loan growth. Works with Loan Administration leadership to create and update various presentation materials to be viewed by Credit Union executives and the Board of Directors. Provides support to Lending Development leadership and Loan Administration by collaborating with vendors and internal departments to complete vendor due diligence for projects and maintaining lending campaigns. Utilizes project management applications to effectively manage projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review and update lending policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal guidelines.
- Conduct thorough research on lending trends, market conditions, and competitive products. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management. Research, evaluate and develop ways to automate and simplify the lending process to enhance operational efficiency and member experience. Assist with efforts to document work processes to streamline workflows to enhance lending products and services.
- Interview vendors and facilitate meetings with SECU SMEs to research and evaluate new lending products, services and technology. Conduct vendor due diligence requirements for all new and existing vendors, including general vendor management tasks, documentation for project ideation, approval and contract execution.
- Prepare and edit presentation materials, including loan analytics, lending recommendations, or other materials presented by Loan Administration senior leadership to be viewed by Credit Union executives and the Board of Directors
- Assists the Lending Initiatives Manager with the evaluation, research, development, and deployment of marketing strategies designed to promote lending across the organization. Assists with established campaign activity and success rate tracking.
Required Education:
Associate's degree, Acceptable Fields of Study: Any
Additional five years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree
Desired Education:
Bachelor’s Degree, Acceptable Fields of Study: Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Project Management or related field.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
- Six years of credit union or bank lending operations or retail banking experience. Must have a working knowledge of lending terms, federal credit union or banking regulations and lending procedures, to include consumer loans and mortgage lending
- Expert working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving ability and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated without daily supervision
- Experience collaborating with others and leading meetings with mid and senior level management
- Utilization of project management applications: Lucid, Jira, Confluence
- Experience coordinating vendor research, due diligence and managing contract life cycles
- Thorough knowledge of lending policies and procedures
- Experience with employee training
Desired Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
In addition to above
- Past experience creating presentations that communicate vendor data, technology or data analytics.
- Past experience preparing presentations to accurately demonstrate specific use cases for new and upcoming technology or products.
- Process flow diagraming and procedure development
- Office Timeline Experience
- Experience working with technology product life cycles
