Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the IV Nursing Team.

Shift:  Full-time, Night Shift,

Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 for qualifying candidates

Department Overview: Our IV Team supports Sentara Norfolk General and the Sentara Heart Hospital with ultrasound IV’s, peripheral IVs, lab work, mid-lines, and pic-lines.   RN will support our units with IV placement as needed.

1+ year of nursing experience. Must have very good IV skills and be able to work independently. Ensures quality and safety standards are maintained. Must have excellent relationship building skills to work with both internal and external customers. Some patient lifting is required, training will be provided.

Job Summary

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma (Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree (Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN - RN-Doctorate Level Degree
