Job purpose: 

In the capacity of the Regional Security Director Brazil & South Cone, this individual is required to lead proactive security & crisis management activities across a given geography that includes (but not limited to) security risk management, physical & travel security, crisis management & business continuity, intelligence, security operations, investigation, special events, industrial security & regulatory security requirement. Working closely with the GE Vernova regional leadership, functional stakeholders across all GE Vernova P&Ls to implement GE Vernova security policies, procedures, and crisis management objectives. 

 

Job Description:

  • Define and lead a comprehensive regional security ecosystem that will ensure the regional employees, intellectual property, technology, assets, and facilities are protected against loss, disruption, physical harm and/or reputational damage.   

 

Crisis Management & Business Continuity:  

  • Build, develop, and lead a robust Crisis Management and Business Continuity Program to ensure minimal impact to the business from security events (Crime, terrorism, civil disorder, and both natural and man-made crises) and the rapid restoration of operations.  

  • Conduct CM Drills and tabletop exercises and work with stakeholders to ensure Business Continuity Planning & Impact Preparedness is initiated and completed. 

  • Devise plans for Emergency Notification Protocols and ensure that call trees are tested via the Company Emergency Notification System.  

  • Ensure that an Incident response strategy is implemented and tested in regular intervals.    

Travel Security & Journey Management: 

  • Vet, monitor, collaborate contract & manage security services vendors that can provide Journey Management (including Meet & Greet & Security Escort), Hotel Secure Transfers, Security Systems etc.  

  • Build, regional SOPs for travel security & journey management. 

  • Lead and collaborate on Executive Protection protocols to ensure they are in place, review venues, accommodation, routes, & transport services at a regional level 

 

Physical Security & Risk Assessments  

  • Conduct Site Risk Assessments for new / existing company and client sites.  

  • Maintain and update Country Security Profiles periodically. 

  • Conduct Hotel Risk Assessments as required for employees/travelers to stay in security approved hotels.   

  • Ensure appropriate mitigation measure and system are in place to meet GE Vernova policy and standards.  

  • Own all required Security Employee Awareness Trainings at a regional level, (HESAT, induction, NEO etc.)  

  • Support and partner with CISO/IT, Legal and HR for IP/DLP program implementation in the region 

 

Intelligence / Operations 

  • Liaise with local security apparatus, local security networks including embassies, and intelligence agencies.  

  • Coordination with PRO related matters when needed, in dealing with public/govt. offices and LEAs. 

  • Act as an Operational/Tactical team lead for incident management  

  • Understanding of Criminal laws and related legislation in region and security regulatory requirement. 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent experience/knowledge.  Concentration in political science, criminal justice, management, law or similar field or equivalent experience. 

  • Held a leadership position corporate organization and in law enforcement, security, or intelligence for governmental agencies.  

  • Ability to effectively problem-solve and resolve a variety of issues and topics.  

  • Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans.  

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and cross-cultural teams to achieve common objectives. 

  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time. 

 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Major experience in managing and conducting security operations including physical security, investigations, personal protection, and crisis management.  

  • Industrial security qualification and association, CPP, PSP or similar certification is a plus. 

  • Understanding of Security best practices, regional criminal laws, and related legislation. 

  • Ability to coordinate, collaborate, and gain trust and credibility across the broad matrix of business and GE Vernova stakeholders. 

  • Ability to use Microsoft office with excellent oral
