CTG is seeking to fill a Data Management Specialist opening for our client in Rochester, MN.
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months
Overview:
The Data Management Specialist will fulfil an integral role in the Research Business Intelligence team, performing unit and systems integration testing of data including existing warehouses and data in the Business Intelligence environments. This role will carefully review the team's current data flow processes and propose recommended solutions and strategies to optimize applications and data management best practices. The role will also serve as the lead in documenting and tracking user errors and experiences to inform future improvement endeavors.
Duties:
- Build, maintain and assure validity of metadata contained in a research data management system.
- Construct metadata definitions and data fields.
- Program variable sequences, rules and dependencies.
- Review clinical protocol design, system specifications, metadata definitions and database infrastructure.
- Works independently and closely with clients and study team to develop data transfer specification and facilitate the creation of data transfer files. Supports complex client operational service needs.
- Monitor and resolve system errors.
- Write and update Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions.
- Responsible for overall performance and operation of metadata and electronic collection methodology for assigned studies.
- Perform appropriate operational duties.
- Actively involved in Research quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance initiatives and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, ICH, GCP, JCAHO and others).
Required Skills & Experience:
- SQL
- Coding experience
- API familiarity
- Business Intelligence tool familiarity (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of databases
- Experience with data governance and creating SOPs and working instructions for managing data
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Cloud-based environments (Google Cloud)
- Experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau or Power BI
Education:
- Bachelors degree in related field
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50 to $60/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
