GENERAL OVERVIEW

Coordinate the Perioperative Support Staff and available resources necessary to ensure the supply system work flow is efficient and effective. Coordinate and assist in the direct implementation of the Pyxis automated supply system for all the operative areas. Coordinate the complete manual and electronic requisition process.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and facilitate the support staff of Perioperative Services as it pertains to the daily operational duties of the department supply management. (10%)
• Assist in the education, implementation, troubleshooting and maintaining of Pyxis automated supply systems for all the operative areas. Recognized as a Super user for automated supply management. Serve as a back up to the System Administrator for Pyxis. Coordinate and assist with manual and Pyxis annual inventory.(25%)
• Inventory and prepare supply requisitions for all special order items per operative area as well as the reordering of implants for all surgical cases for the operative areas. Coordinate the daily receipt of supplies and refill to the point of use. Emergency source supplies, implant when urgently requested by the clinical staff. (40%)
• Assist in the collection, documentation and return of all recalled products. Identify and coordinate all excess inventory returns to assist in cost containments measures. (5%)
• Coordinate, expedite and maintain information on all open orders for all operative areas and communicate effectively and efficiently to support staff, clinical staff and management of the Perioperative areas all supply issues. Maintain a positive, professional relationship with clinical and support staff and vendor representatives. (20%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Knowledge of hospital purchasing policies and procedures required.
• Experience in materials processes, inventory management and a Super User for the Pyxis Automated Supply System.
• Demonstrated experience in automated requisitioning and automated supply systems.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating resources to maintain workflow efficiencies.
• Great knowledge of med/surg supplies with an excellent sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer experience required.
