Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Aerojet Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

Introduction

We're seeking a Senior Software Platform Engineer to design and develop sophisticated data analysis tools for our propulsion engineering team. In this role, you'll build critical infrastructure that enables our engineers to access, analyze, and derive insights from complex test data.  Our ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering fundamentals with a deep understanding of data systems and analytical thinking. While web development skills are valuable, this role focuses primarily on building robust data platforms and analytical tools for engineering applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data platforms to process, store, and analyze propulsion test data
  • Develop APIs and services that enable efficient access to test data and analytical tools
  • Build performance-optimized database solutions for large-scale test data
  • Collaborate with propulsion engineers to understand analytical needs and implement appropriate solutions
  • Maintain and improve existing data infrastructure and tools
  • Ensure data integrity and system reliability across the platform
  • Mentor junior engineers in best practices for data platform development and usage
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across the engineering team through documentation and training
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align platform development with broader engineering goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 8 year of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Strong foundation in mathematics
  • Extensive experience with database design and optimization
  • Proficiency in data modeling and working with large datasets
  • Experience building scalable backend services and APIs
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
  • Programming expertise in data processing languages (e.g., Python, Go, C++)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives
  • Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing capabilities
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences

 

Preferred:

  • Previous work in aerospace, automotive, or similar engineering environments
  • Background in building analytical tools or platforms for engineering teams
  • Experience with engineering data analysis or test data management
  • Track record of building maintainable, well-documented systems
  • Some frontend programming experience (Javascript, C#)

Salary: $99,500-$147,300

Work Schedule: Full Time

Location: Durango, CO
