Product Owner - Data IT

Job Description:

The Product Owner - Data IT is part of the data & analytics group responsible for various Business Intelligence streams like data acquisition, data management and reporting capabilities to fruition on behalf of Dave & Buster's.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• SME in Agile – SCRUM methodology
• Supervise and advise the scrum team to meet business requirements
• Nurture ideas and solutions to existing customer problems
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to achieve project goals
• Determine roadmaps for features in the creation phase
• Well versed with cloud environment and data warehousing concepts
• Schedule and lead meetings to identify requirements, issues and fixes for projects
• Work with internal and external customers to analyze the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.
• Owns the product roadmap.
• Develop scope and define backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team.
• Solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
• Draft key objectives and results, strategies and apply the data for the product to make business decisions.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
• Accountable for the created product(s), delivering in the product model and communicating the product needs with business partners.
• Assess value, develops cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
• Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
• Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.
• Represents team in front of stakeholders, clients or users.
• Increase an understanding of Agile practices, Lean Startup, new technologies opportunities and other new trends.
• Identify, prioritize, and execute the activities required to support corporate strategies, priorities, and special initiative projects
• Collaborate and coordinate with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues
• Build and maintain business landscape knowledge to provide solid foundational context for critical strategic projects

REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated track-record of successfully leading ambitious strategic and operationally complex projects with cross-functional teams. Resourceful in tracking down information and answers
• Interpersonal skills and developing relationships with team members and customers.
• Experience with a definition of minimum marketable features and minimum viable products.
• Knows how to define the product roadmap.
• Effective problem-solving, statistical, and business judgment skills, with the ability to translate quantitative analysis into business recommendations
• Overall understanding of technologies used in the product.
• Communicate and generate support for recommendations among business leaders across the organization
• Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), pricing and/or business strategy
• Excellent project management, presentation, and communication skills
• MBA degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Software Engineering
• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner OR SCRUM Master
• Experience working for Strategy consulting firm
• Experience with:

  • Proficient in business case development and ability to ‘sell’ the idea

  • Experience defining & managing product budgets
  • Exceptional knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
