Job Description

The AD supports commercial aspects of the new product pipeline and the overall franchise strategy for the PRM business within Allergan Aesthetics, including next generation Tissue Expander, next generation breast implants and novel regenerative platform technologies.

This individual is a key contributor that develops a pipeline strategy that delivers business growth, drives category leadership, and optimizes the portfolio value.  

The individual is the commercial lead and represents the customer voice at cross-functional core team meetings involving Tissue Management Science, Product Development, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Quality, Regulatory, Health Economics Outcomes Research, Global Access & Pricing Reimbursement, Operations. 

This individual is responsible for generating a variety of commercial inputs: identifying and gathering insights through market research and KOL management, leading innovation councils, user needs documentation, target product profiles, competitive analysis, pricing, positioning, claim matrix, working with GMAP and the forecasting team for pipeline assets.  It requires a deep understanding of the market landscape, trends, consumer and plastic surgeon’s needs, building a strong KOL network, and creating a plan to address gaps through internal and external innovation.  This role reports to the Head of Global Pipeline Commercialization and Strategy, PRM.

  • Identifies the needs for VOC, generate a VOC strategy and leverages combination of market research, competitive intelligence, and KOL insights to inform and evolve strategy.
  • Provide commercial insights to the R&D team to make sure the development strategy matches the customer needs to secure success of the company in the future commercialization.
  • Manages diverse and complex medical devices that require prioritization of multiple product features and attributes.
  • Understands and supports clinical studies to optimize promotional and economic claims.
  • Develops close working relationship with R&D, regulatory/legal, medical affairs, clinical, GMAP, HEOR, market research, operations, downstream marketing and key opinion leaders; bringing together the best of the business to drive results in a heavily matrixed environment.
  • Supports handover to downstream marketing, through development of “early brand plans” and early commercialization strategies, which include positioning, key claim, and branding
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of consumer and physician needs, plastic surgery category and market trends, competitive landscape, technology trends, identification and assessment of significant portfolio and franchise specific growth opportunities
  • Experience with medical devices and surgical devices/ ideally with plastic surgery
  • Attends OR surgeries to build a deep expertise of plastic surgery procedures as necessary.

  • Ability to prioritize commercial opportunities across the portfolio and develop integrated, long-term strategies for capturing the maximum commercial value
