Overview
The Longo Lexus Parts Apprentice is responsible for assisting online parts guests with their parts purchases and providing the service/body shop technicians with accurate parts. Our ideal candidate has great attention to detail, is a team player, has excellent communication skills, and approaches every task with a positive attitude. This position works a rotating schedule that includes Saturdays. The Parts Apprentice Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of $21.50
*This position is 100% on-site at Longo Lexus in El Monte, CA.

Responsibilities
- Fill online parts orders and communicate with guests via the Internet.
- Ensure that all online guests are receiving quality products in a timely manner.
- Assist our front retail clientele with all their parts needs.
- Updates and recommends technicians on new products.
- Accurately prices parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and transfers the information to the proper document and computer system.
- Answers phone calls, and internet requests and provides part and price information as requested.
- Notifies management of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Requests special order parts solicited by guest/technician/ASM/Estimator and notifies when they have arrived.
- Pulls needed parts from stock and follows up on back-ordered parts.
- Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
- Achieves monthly sales and forecasted goals.
- Maintains records of all repair orders, invoices, and special-order parts.
- Keeps current on new products and/or updates and keeps technicians/ASM informed.
- Keeps counter areas clean and uncluttered.
- Assist in all other areas of the parts department, as needed.
- Performs other specific administrative functions as directed by management.
- Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.
- Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one (1) year of customer service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of automotive parts; and mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages) and application.
- Ability to pay attention to detail; follow-up with internal and external guests; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, Internet and in person; and use standard office equipment.

- Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, and small and/or enclosed spaces.
- Adjusting, moving, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps.
