Emerging Payments and AirKey (EP&A) is a team focused on innovative customer experiences in the digital commerce space. The Chief of Staff and PMO team ensures that the organization is running efficiently and effectively - partnering with product, analyst and tech leads as our internal customers. 

As a Senior Manager Project Manager in EP&A, you will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company. General Responsibilities:

  • Standardize and maintain a comprehensive portfolio backlog, inclusive of both product and technology demand with a robust change management process

  • Build and evolve a process to enable effective prioritization and trade-off decisions before investing technology resources to refine and/or build

  • Maintain a feedback loop with the leadership team to understand strategic priorities and technology capacity allocation, while providing transparency into emerging intent, status of strategic priorities, and escalating any key risks/impediments

  • Partners cross-functionally with stakeholders to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership in  product delivery

  • Develops process, documentation and communication approach for technology/product intake from all stakeholders

  • Creates visibility to commitments, capacity & performance metrics 

  • Drives awareness and ownership of key risks, issues and impediments related to the portfolio roadmap

  • Manages integrated portfolio roadmap, stakeholder communication and escalation of issues

  • Builds relationships and collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Identifies and highlights when individual product roadmaps or specific initiatives overlap and identifies opportunities for synergy and efficiency

  • Uses horizontal visibility to help ensure roadmap outcomes align to overall strategy

  • Maintain and evolve a centralized impact assessment process, focused on identifying potentially impacted teams, platform, and partners required to deliver newly introduced intent

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 8 Years of Project or Process Management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience working with product teams in an agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters / MBA degree

  • At least 10 years of Project Management experience

  • Working knowledge of product prioritization and delivery tools including Jira, Jira Align, Confluence

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $170,800 - $194,900 for Sr Manager, Project Management


 

New York, NY: $186,300 - $212,700 for Sr Manager,
