Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Manager of Retail Performance Analytics will work with a team of managers and analysts who synthesize insights through data analysis to enable data driven decisions that help grow Samsung market share. The Senior Manager, will work with teams across retail, identify growth opportunities and lead special projects to address the same, develop new KPIs and continue overseeing the current reporting and analytics requirements to support the business.
They should be a strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented individual who has the capacity to lead a team along with inter-team collaboration skills. They must be able to apply a wide range of knowledge, technical skills, and abilities to design and recommend strategic initiatives that drive sellout and market share.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide critical analytical support for business decision-making involving cross-departmental and multi-functional areas.
Manage the Data Strategy, Performance Analytics, and Data Science teams that focus on Driving sellouts, incremental revenue, and strategy development through data analysis, data exploration, collaboration, ideation, target implementation, performance tracking, predictive analytics, opportunity identification
Develop channel-centric and geography-based sales performance trackers to support development of targets, demand generation campaigns, and guide marketing investments.
Apply expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis to synthesize trends into actionable insights and recommendations and articulate the story behind the numbers.
Conduct Industry analysis: Analyze trends, patterns, early warnings, and forecasts. Utilize syndicated and other sources for periodical Retail industry assessment.
Total addressable market analysis: Internal, external view of Samsung mobile device categories
Support the Director D&A in establishing and maintaining regular automated reporting that analyzes data from multiple sources that provide insights into the performance of the Mobile business
Collaborate with the peer Advanced Analytics team in developing and maintaining predictive forecasting models.
Collaborate with Retail teams to identify current gaps and emerging trends and recommend solutions based on quantitative analyses and market insights
Prepare presentations and updates to leadership and headquarters
Background/Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar field of study (Master’s Degree preferred)
6+ years of work experience in Retail performance analytics, Data analytics, Sales Analytics or Strategic Planning (Can be 5 with Master’s degree)
Advanced Excel and Power Point skills; intermediate skills with Tableau, R and Python, SQL
Ability to source, combine and synthesize large amounts of data from various sources to complete statistical modeling, A/B testing, cluster analysis, sample size calculations and tests of significance
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience building and delivering presentations. Collaboration within Retail teams is a priority for this role.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand root cause & effect
Capability to thrive in dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects. Read and interpret detailed and complex customer requirements
