About the role

ManpowerGroup, on behalf of its client, a leading printing company, is in search of a Senior Category Manager to join the team, in Athens, Greece.

Responsibilities:

The job holder will be running the whole procurement process, developing long-term strategies for product categories, and managing relationships with suppliers.

More specifically he/she will:

  • Manage direct purchasing transactions with a focus on raw materials such as special paper and plastics and certain cover materials for company’s own manufacture.
  • Run the whole procurement process from supplier survey to RFI, RFQ up to negotiating of the related contracts.
  • Investigate and drive make or buy analysis and actively contribute to related decisions incl. managing external production and development partner.
  • Take over negotiations of purchase and service contracts, based on commodity group strategy and project needs.
  • Develop further the existing purchasing and commodity group strategy and undertake analyses of the market and the development of sustainably successful supplier relationships.
  • Initiate and carry out measures and projects for cost reduction and cost avoidance together with the demand carrier.
  • Cooperate and take over procurement processes in projects (matrix procurement) and prepare the commercial and technical evaluation of offers with award proposals
  • Report and prepare relevant KPls and maintain them in purchasing dashboards.
  • Monitor supplier performance and take effective action in case of any deviations including recourse handling.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in international (project) purchasing in the procurement, ideally in the paper and/or plastic manufacturing industry
  • BSc in Supply Chain, Business Administration or relevant field preferred
  • High level of expertise in purchasing processes and methods and knowledge in contract management and purchasing law topics
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of German is considered a benefit
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good knowledge of ERP SAP & Navision and Power BI
  • Excellent interpersonal, social and communication skills
  • Very good negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Proactiveness and organizational skills
  • Strong team orientation, commitment and a high degree of self-motivation
  • Flexible to travel
