The Opportunity
The Medical Secretary Instructor, reporting to the Campus Director, is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and training to students enrolled in the medical secretary program. The instructor will develop and implement curriculum, assess student performance, and ensure that the program meets industry standards. The role also involves providing guidance and support to students to enhance their educational experience and prepare them for successful careers in medical office administration.
The Details
Key Deliverables:
- Deliver engaging and effective lectures, hands-on training, and practical exercises on topics such as medical office procedures, medical terminology, medical billing, and office software.
- Develop and update curriculum to ensure it aligns with current industry standards and best practices.
- Create and implement lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that facilitate learning and skill development.
- Evaluate student performance through exams, quizzes, projects, and practical exercises.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic and professional growth.
- Offer tutoring to increase student achievement.
- Offer academic advising and support to help students achieve their educational and career goals.
- Ensure that the program meets all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes to enhance program quality and effectiveness.
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain and enhance instructional skills and industry knowledge. Attend workshops, conferences, and seminars to stay updated on trends and advancements in medical office administration.

- Assist with student recruitment, orientation, and retention efforts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare industry partners and employers.

- Promote the program and its benefits to prospective students and stakeholders.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Office Administration, Health
- Information Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience as a medical secretary or in a related
- medical administrative role.
- Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
- Certified Microsoft Office Specialist or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Strong knowledge of medical office procedures, medical terminology, billing processes, and office software (e.g., Electronic Health Records systems).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
• This position typically requires working in a classroom or lab environment.
• May require occasional travel for professional development or industry events.
• Some evening or weekend hours may be necessary to accommodate students'
schedules.
