Captivation Software is looking for a mid level software engineer who will be responsible for developing client-side (Python) and server-side (Chapel) software to expand Arkouda’s code base coverage of Numpy functionality as well as deliver performance and scalability enhancements to Arkouda.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret / SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity..

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience developing Bash scripts
• Experience developing with Python in a Linux environment
• Experience developing with Python’s Pandas and NumPy software libraries
• Willingness to learn Chapel elements of the Arkouda software package (NumPy-like arrays at massive scale backed by Chapel)
• Familiarity with GitHub and open-source software development
• Experience with Git source code repository

Desired Skills:

• Familiar with the Chapel programming language
• Experience with C/C++ programming languages
• Experience developing with Jupyter Notebook
• General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

Benefits

• Annual Salary: $125,000 - $250,000 (Depends on the years of experience)
