Summary:
Workday is the leading cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, providing a unified finance, human resources, and student/faculty experience. American University (AU) implemented Workday for Finance, Budget, Human Resources, and Payroll and is now embarking on the implementation of Workday Student. This internship welcomes AU students from any major to apply and provides an opportunity to gain marketable, real-world experience in Workday. The successful candidate will support AU’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) and university stakeholders in the implementation of Workday and collaborate with other interns, the implementation partner (Workday Professional Services), and the AU project team.
Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work:
15 - 20 hours per week during regular business hours, for a minimum commitment of one semester with an option to extend.
The position is primarily remote with one day a month in the office.
This internship is Federal Work Study eligible.
Spring Valley Campus, 4801 Massachusetts Ave NW.
Salary Range:
$18-$19 per hour.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with AU Change Management staff in design sessions with Workday implementation team.
Draft presentations, communications, and end user training documents.
Assist with capturing and tracking Workday change impacts.
Coordinate event logistics for Change Management activities.
Support Organizational Readiness activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal, writing, and oral communications skills.
Ability to be resourceful, take initiative, and be willing to take on whatever tasks are needed.
Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to follow directions, exercise good judgment, and work independently.
Ability to work well as a part of the team.
Interest in Workday, student lifecycle business processes, information technology, change management, communication, or project management.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Sophomore students and above, including graduate students.
