Job Description Machina Labs is looking for a proven sales leader to build upon a foundation of early success in US Government markets focused on the US Army and help expand our USG business and deliver future revenue goals.
As an Account Executive, you will be an early member of our rapidly growing sales and business development team, responsible for helping craft the go-to-market strategy within key government agencies, and then executing on it. These government agencies can include DoD departments such as the US Army, SOCOM and 4th Estate agencies. Having already built a large pipeline and successfully captured awards including development programs and systems deployments within these agencies, we are looking for the right individual to take ownership of a quota, grow the pipeline, submit bids, and capture funding and awards to deliver revenue results.
At Machina Labs, you will work closely with multiple business and technical teams including sales, marketing, applications engineering, operations, production, and process development. You will be responsible for cross-functionally coordinating and prioritizing resources to pursue the largest, most profitable growth opportunities. This position reports to the VP of Federal Sales.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of sales experience in one or more of the following domains,
- 1) Custom manufacturing services or manufacturing equipment (machine tools), 2) Engineering services, software, or equipment, 3) Advanced materials, materials development, or related products and technologies.
- Track record of success winning >$5M Government Contracts.
- Proven ability to find the right opportunities and sources of funding and convince decision makers and contracting officers to successfully negotiate and sign complex contracts.
- Deep understanding of the organization of USG departments, agencies, offices, working groups, committees, etc and their missions and funding cycles as well as their operating, procurement, and contracting processes.
- Intimate knowledge of hardware product development processes and sustainment operations, and how new manufacturing capabilities and vendors are evaluated and implemented within DoD.
- Extensive, established network of government decision-maker relationships in key defense departments, bases, depots, shipyards, and other places where Machina technology can be leveraged.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator, presenter, and effective public speaker.
Special Requirements:
- ITAR Restriction: All candidates for this ITAR restricted position must be one of the following: US Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident, Asylee, Refugee or otherwise lawfully admitted under an amnesty program.
- FOUO Designation: This position may require access to work under Federal Contracts under the "For Official Use Only" designation, and as such, you may be limited to access such programs if you are not a US citizen or if you have dual citizenship.
- Eligible for Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Military service.
- Active security clearance.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a STEM or related technical field.
- Experience using Salesforce.
- Experience working at early-stage, rapidly growing organizations (VC-funded, <100 employees).
- Preference for candidates located in Washington DC or near our HQ in Los Angeles.
- Willing to consider other US locations with proximity to major airports and customers.
- Willingness to travel >25% to visit USG customers and attend conferences and tradeshows.
