About the Role:
Planet is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our dynamic Security team. In this critical role, you will be our first dedicated Corporate Security Engineer reporting to and be responsible for coordinating with our Head of Global Information Security, advising and implementing our corporate security roadmap. As our first dedicated Corporate Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, maturing, migrating, and establishing existing and new corporate security capabilities. You will provide expert guidance while driving continuous improvement in our security posture across our corporate security landscape.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Validating and verifying Corporate system security requirements and establishing system security designs for enterprise systems, and interfacing systems that are part of a large complex network environment with geographically distributed components
- Experience implementing and maintaining IAM, PAM, RBAC, MDM, and E/XDR systems
- Develop and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization's information systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential security weaknesses and vulnerabilities in the organization's infrastructure and applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the secure design, implementation, and operation of new systems, applications and technologies, including cloud-based environments
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging threats, and cybersecurity best practices, and recommend proactive measures to enhance the organization's overall security posture
- Building and maturing Planets enterprise security functions to include IT, Business Systems, Product, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to ensure that the hardware and software architecture and implementation meets the security requirements for processing company SOX, EAR, ITAR, and CUI data
- Develop and maintain information security technical controls to meet ISO 27001, SOX, NIST 800-171, and UK cyber essentials requirements
- Participate in post-incident reviews to identify weaknesses in Planets Corporate Security program and recommend improvements to prevent future incidents
- Collaborate with the training and awareness team to develop and deliver Corporate Security related training programs
- Fostering greater consistency of corporate security across the company
- Advising on corporate security policies, procedures, and standard documents
- Building and maintaining Planets Corporate Security function that supports and enables internal and external customers
- Working closely with Planets information security compliance management to mature existing once a year certifications and audits to continuous compliance

- Excellent knowledge mapping security to compliance frameworks, regulations, and standards
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in migrating from small business applications to enterprise applications
- Passion for identifying opportunities to improve policies, processes
