A Day in the Life
The Acute Care & Monitoring group develops products that are designed to collect patient information from around the hospital and ensure that caregivers can make the right decisions at the right time. We strive to improve patient outcomes by ensuring that when a problem emerges at the bedside, caregivers are aware of it and can respond quickly. This position is primarily responsible for designing and developing new features for our connectivity software, used to move data between medical devices. You will understand user needs and requirements, then use them to design and implement the software, as well as perform unit testing. You will collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure the software you create can be documented and tested.
Location: The candidate will need to be local to Lafayette, Colorado and work from the office an average of 4 days per week
Position Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software to implement new features
- Examine product code to root cause issues and develop fixes
- Create technical documentation, specifications and diagrams
- Provide technical assistance to product deployment and support personnel as required
- Conduct and participate in peer reviews
- Participate in failure mode analysis to understand ways that software could fail and potential mitigations
- Support efforts that ensure our products are available to be demonstrated by our Sales Team
- Participate in cross-functional reviews and prioritization of field issues
- Participate in grooming and estimation of features, stories, and issues
- Participate in technical discovery
- Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering or computer science
- 2 years of experience
- Experience with developing software using C# programming language
- Experience with Agile software development and sprint-based development cycles
- Experience with source control using GitLab, GitHub or similar
Nice to Have:
- Experience with unit testing frameworks
- Experience with SAST code analysis tools
- Experience with relational databases, such as SQL Server
- Experience with non-relational databases, such as MongoDB
- Experience with RabbitMQ or similar
- Experience with medical device communication protocols, such as HL7 and FHIR
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMWare and Azure
- Experience with networking concepts and troubleshooting
- Effective communication both verbally and in written form
