Position Overview
We're seeking a dedicated Thrift Store Clerk to ensure smooth store operations. You'll provide clerical support, manage transactions, assist with donations, and maintain the store's appearance. If you enjoy helping others and have strong organizational skills, this role is ideal for you.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities : Clerk I
- Perform typing, filing, computer input, and clerical duties.
- Handle phone calls professionally and relay messages promptly.
- Distribute materials, mail, and information as directed.
- Run errands for the company.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Thrift Store
- Operate cash register and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Assist with deliveries and pick up of donations.
- Sort and price donations.
- Maintain the Thrift Store in an orderly manner.
- Make recommendations for store arrangements.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to safety practices and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in word processing and computer usage.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Hold a valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record and maintain state minimum auto insurance coverage.
- Experience with basic office equipment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clerical/secretarial experience.
Physical & Mental Abilities
- Ability to organize work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of appropriate manners and good social skills.
- Ability to learn and use computer programs effectively.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Dexterity and coordination for various physical tasks.
- Good vision and hearing.
- Mobility sufficient for facility and community navigation unassisted.
Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Reports to: Program Director or designate.
Employment Status: Non-exempt
