Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Director II, Alumni Diversity and Affinity Groups, the Assistant Director position focuses on strengthening engagement among alumni affinity networks and fostering meaningful and inclusive opportunities for alumni to connect with each other and with Oregon State through shared communities, interests, and professional pathways. Measures of Success
- Increased participation and engagement among alumni through affinity and professional network programs.
- Growth in the number of newly engaged alumni and volunteers participating in affinity-based opportunities and who represent a wide range of perspectives and experiences.
- Ensure experiences advance the OSU brand and engage constituents in creative and energetic new ways, as measured by post-events surveys and other applicable metrics.
- Ensure experiences grow in scale and participation including successful delivery of programs that foster meaningful connection, professional growth, and a sense of belonging.
- Successful delivery of high-quality programs that demonstrate meaningful connection and measurable engagement outcomes.
- Support the design and delivery of programs that engage alumni through affinity networks, helping strengthen a culture of connection and belonging across the OSU community.
- Collaborate with OSUAA and university partners to plan, promote, and execute programs and events that build alumni connection, visibility, and participation.
- Cultivate and support alumni volunteers and affinity network leaders, providing guidance, communication, and tools for effective engagement.
- Serve as a key connector between alumni, OSU units, and community partners to strengthen opportunities for involvement, collaboration, and shared impact.
- Assist in developing communications, storytelling, and outreach materials that promote affinity network activities, highlight alumni engagement and impact, and elevate diverse voices within the OSU community.
- Contribute to event logistics, vendor coordination, budgeting, and post-event reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of alumni and volunteer engagement, participation data, and event outcomes, while tracking metrics, collecting feedback, and collaborating with campus partners to assess program effectiveness and ensure alignment with broader university and alumni association goals.
- Represent, support, and/or participate in other OSU Alumni Association and OSU Foundation events and programming as needed.
- Knowledge of alumni engagement, volunteer management, and event planning best practices.
- Strong relationship building skills and ability to collaborate effectively with alumni, volunteers, and partners from various backgrounds.
- Demonstrated skill in planning and delivering engaging programs and events that foster community and belonging.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management abilities with attention to detail and follow through.
- Proven capacity to motivate and support volunteers and network leaders to achieve engagement goals.
- Professionalism, sound judgment, and authenticity when representing the organization.
- Represent OSUAA at events, meetings, and community activities as assigned.
