Flexible Shift LPN - Vent/Trach Specialist - East Ridge, TN

 

Job Description: Are you an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with expertise in vent and trach care? We have a rewarding opportunity in East Ridge, TN, for a skilled LPN to provide care for a high-acuity patient. This role offers flexible shift configurations, allowing you to choose between night or day shifts that best fit your schedule.

 

Key Details:

• Location: East Ridge, TN
• Position Type: Full-Time (Flexible Shifts)
• Shift Options:
  • Nights: Tuesday - Thursday, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Days: Thursday - Saturday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Patient Details:

• Condition: Ventilator and trach dependent, G-tube, high acuity

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care, including ventilator and trach management.
• Administer medications and G-tube feedings, monitor vital signs, and perform other necessary medical procedures.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for a high-acuity patient.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring all care provided meets healthcare standards.

Requirements:

• Current LPN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of one year of experience with vent and trach care.
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle high-acuity care with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Perform selected nursing procedures within the scope of LPN practice• Provide patient and family education according to plan as outlined by the RN• Monitor patient’s vital signs and make specific measurements and observations• Monitor and record intake and output, and report significant changes immediately• Observe, assess and record patient’s physical and mental condition and report any changes• Administer medications as instructed and ordered by the physician and instructed by the RN• Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service education programs, as assigned

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in good standing• Previous home health, private duty, skilled nursing or hospital experience preferred• Ability to build rapport with patients and family members• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills• Reliable transportation or valid driver’s license with current automobile insurance
