Title: Area Director of School-Site Elementary Clubs

Reports To: Director of Youth and Family Services
Department: Youth & Family Services (YFS)
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Area Director of School-Site Elementary Clubs plays a critical role in helping BGCSW deliver high-quality programs that support youth success. This position oversees internal operations, provides leadership to Clubs and targeted programs, and supports Healthy Lifestyles initiatives, including mental health programming. The role involves direct staff supervision, training and development, program evaluation, and strategic partnership engagement.
LEADERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Model and live out BGCSW’s Core Values and Club Code.
- Lead and support an energetic, effective team to meet program performance and engagement goals.
- Hire, train, support, supervise, and evaluate School-Site Elementary Club Directors.
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to direct reports and Club staff.
- Prepare and present narrative and data summary reports for leadership and board use.
- Partner with the Grants Manager to support narrative and data reporting for grants.
- Use data to support ongoing Club program evaluation and improvement.
- Manage Club budgets and collaborate with Finance & Admin on fiscal planning and monitoring.
- Collaborate with the Director of Safety & Operations on youth safety and facility needs.
- Provide oversight and support to Club Directors on operations and supply management.
- Flexibility to support occasional evening/weekend events and field trips.
- Perform other duties as needed to support program goals.
PROGRAMMING IN PRIORITY OUTCOME AREAS
- Promote engaging, high-quality programming across all priority outcome areas.
- Collaborate with the Behavior Support Specialist to implement Health & Wellness activities and programs in Clubs.
- Collaborate with the Behavior Support Specialist to learn and incorporate behavior supports, self-regulation, coping strategies, and social skills across Clubs.
- Train and coach School Site Club staff to integrate strength-based and restorative engagement strategies into the Club environment (e.g., Zones of Regulation, calming spaces, PAX Tools, etc.) utilizing BGCA and locally developed resources.
- Collaborate with the YFS Director to ensure strong evaluation practices, data collection, and programming observation.
CLUB & PROGRAMMING PARTNERSHIPS
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally, with Clubhouse staff, leadership, families, youth, schools, community groups, and other related agencies to strengthen partnerships and support Club members.
- Support Clubhouse and school-partnered events, including back-to-school nights, mental health family nights, and tween nights.
- Maintain confidentiality and adherence to all privacy expectations and ethical obligations.
YOUTH & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
- Ensure the Club is meeting the organization’s membership and attendance goals, proper record keeping, and program results for grant-funded programs.
- Ensure best practices for youth engagement, behavior guidance, and incident response are implemented in all Clubs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of supervisory experience with direct supervision of 2+ employees.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar position at a youth-serving organization.
- Experience with Google and Microsoft 365 applications
- Alignment with Club Code and Club Values
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Impeccable ethical standards, a high degree of self-reflection and commitment to continuous learning, and an ability to cultivate high-trust relationships.
